Sadie Hawkins

Okays. So my school is holding a Sadie Hawkins dance in around February. And I hadn't a clue as to where it came from and it was interesting looking up the info on Wiki(which I usually despise but for quick ref. its easy)
And for me personally I feel like it's the one time "normally" where girls in high school or whatever get to feel the sting of rejection or the awkwardness of a first time date, etc. Am I being too pessimistic? Anyways tell me if you have any fun Sadie Hawkins Dance stories, I'd love to hear them!!
